ABSTRACT: This study investigates the ethical dilemmas faced in vocational research, focusing on the challenges and solutions in conducting ethical studies within vocational education settings. The objectives were to (1) identify common ethical dilemmas encountered in vocational research, (2) evaluate the impact of these dilemmas on research outcomes and stakeholders, and (3) propose strategies to address and mitigate ethical issues in vocational research. A survey design was employed to gather data from vocational researchers, educators, and students, providing a broad understanding of ethical challenges. The sample size included 180 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure a diverse range of experiences and insights. The case study focused on Edo State, Nigeria, a region with active vocational research initiatives. Findings revealed that ethical dilemmas in vocational research included issues of consent, confidentiality, and the potential for bias. Addressing these dilemmas required clear ethical guidelines, training for researchers, and robust oversight mechanisms. Recommendations included developing comprehensive ethical guidelines specific to vocational research, establishing ethics committees within vocational institutions, and providing regular ethics training for researchers and educators.
